Cruise 2009 : Royal Caribbean - Voyager - April 5, 2009 My wife and I got to see her cousin Benny for the first time in 20 years. He and his wife Dana were some the nicest folks I've ever met. We spent many hours talking and laughing and hearing stories from their many years in the entertainment business. They've travelled all over the world. Robbie and I would meet up with them and before we realized it several hours would have passed. Absolutely some of the most interesting stories I’ve ever heard. (Might make a good book !!). Speaking of books, Benny has actually written a book called “Sing Roses”. He was kind enough to give us an advance copy and, let me tell you, it is a fantastic read!! For me it was kind of a Grishom, Ludlum, Koontz blend. At once technical, ethereal and emotional with a very “visual” writing style and multiple story lines all converging in an unexpected climax that will leave you guessing until the very end. We also get to meet Chuck Perry, Benny and Dana’s music director. He was absolutly hilarious !! Exceptionally musically gifted and a fantasic piano player/singer. Robbie and I were fortunate to be invited to a private performance. Just Benny, Dana, Robbie, myself, Chuck and the piano. An experience we’ll never forget. It is always a gift to hear a talented musician in such an intimate setting. Thanks for the memories.
